Marriage on a Mission

As we write this, we’ve just submitted our second manuscript to our publisher. It’s a humbling thing to have the chance to write again, and to proclaim that God indeed has a mission for EVERY marriage. This new book (which is scheduled to be released by Kregel in 2017) includes 30 videos of 9 amazing couples. Readers will be able to access these interviews via QR codes which will be imbedded in the text. We’re looking forward to sharing these special couples with you in the future as we count down to the book’s launch. (Pictured below are Bill and Deb. God restored their marriage after a seven-year divorce. We had the privilege of attending their re-wedding ceremony!)

This fall we will again hit the road as marriage missionaries. Our mission is to reconcile broken marriages across the nation and to strengthen marriages and families in the Church. Filming is already underway for our newest book. As we did with Marriage on the Mend, QR codes will be imbedded in the pages of this second book which will be released by Kregel in 2017. These codes link readers to the testimonies of ten couples who are all in the process of discovering God’s mission for their marriage. Stay tuned!

“The miracle happened…” That’s how her e-mail began. Having just returned from a 21-day marriage mission trip, we’d been regrouping and processing all that transpired during the trip. But Saturday night, we received an e-mail and there were those precious words, “The miracle happened…”

The woman went on to say that her husband had returned home just a week after we gathered together with her to pray for that very miracle. But the real truth is, there have been many people faithfully praying for this particular marriage for a long time.

God is able. He can reach down into the rubble and ruin. He can heal. Restore. Reconcile.

The journey ahead for this couple is long. The miracle doesn’t end when a spouse returns. It’s only just the beginning, but make no mistake…

Miracles. Still. Happen.

Check out our day 1 video as we head out on our 13th marriage mission trip from September 17th-October 7th. Our engagements will take us from Florida up to New York, over to northern Ohio, and then to both eastern and western Michigan. You can follow our 3,500 mile/21-day journey via Facebook. We’ll be hitting the road for another marriage mission trip in early September. The dates and states for this journey are in the works. One thing we know for sure, however, is that we need a prayer team to cover every aspect of our travels. Our mission? It’s not easy to wait on God for a miracle. Some of the people we serve in ministry have been waiting and praying for reconciliation for well over a decade. Friends and family tell them to “just move on.” But, they are holding the line of reconciliation and placing all their hope in God. Still, time takes a toll. We know.
