I catch them out of the corner of my eye as we share our testimony of reconciliation: red rings. Red rings encompassing their eyes. Eyes of hurt. Eyes of disappointment. Eyes of fear. The red rings encircling years of pain and now, they hold welling tears. Tears pooling and filling the red rings until they have no place else to go, but to spill over and down. Over and down. It moves my heart beyond compassion.
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Amen and amen. One of my all-time favorite verses.
